Investigations

We are experienced in undertaking complex disciplinary, grievance and whistleblowing investigations – including those that involve medical staff. As independent, external investigators, we can investigate issues objectively and quickly, sending a powerful message that the organisation is taking the issue seriously.

  • Work with you to determine the correct approach to the investigation and ensure that a robust and objective report is produced.

  • Look objectively at underlying issues and distinguish between personal and structural issues.

  • Ensure that personality or legacy issues don’t slow the process down or cloud insights.

  • Deploy a wide-ranging interviewing techniques, such as Cognitive Interviewing integrated with a Trauma-Informed approach.

Our model is based on deploying a senior investigator to manage all stages of the investigation from initial briefing through to final report. However, they can also draw on our wider team to provide advice and guidance as required to ensure we deliver high quality, robust and comprehensive investigations. The combined experience of our team enables you to receive pragmatic advice, helping to identify appropriate approaches to resolving issues

Cultural Reviews

We have developed an approach termed “Cultural Reviews” or “Thematic Audits” which seeks to identify and address issues within teams in a supportive, strengths-based approach.  Cultural Reviews are particularly useful where a client has identified underlying conflict in a team, but feel that undertaking a formal HR investigation would not be appropriate.

Our Cultural Reviews provide teams the opportunity to explore the issues that they are facing within a safe environment: we follow a similar methodology to a standard investigation, but participants are anonymous and we will protect this in the report and any feedback that we provide.  Our reports detail the areas of good practice that have been identified through the review, as well developmental areas which the team might wish to focus on.   Furthermore, in the report we identify informal interventions which will help foster an enhanced working environment.
